My first memory of cake wasn’t the happiest.
My darling mum had made me the most beautiful Dolly Varden cake for my fifth birthday, and I had the perfect dress to match it being the independent little five-year-old that I was.
I really wanted to carry the cake to the table, even though the bench was higher than me. Against my mother’s warning, I tried to grab the cake, tipping it so the whole thing fell flat on my head.
The cake and the party were ruined, and I was in tears.
Fast forward a few years later and cake still brings me to tears, but happy ones as my creations become centrepieces of big, beautiful moments in peoples lives.
I am a qualified chef, a mother of two boys and a crazy blue heeler in the beautiful town of Denmark, Western Australia.
My gourmet creations are inspired by the rugged coastlines and natural beauty we are blessed to be surrounded by in this corner of the globe.
